The episodes simply don't hold my interest for very long anymore. I find myself listening to the newer episodes while doing something else, more for background noise than anything. This post totally made me realize why I've lost my Grump drive.

I haven't even started their Sonic Boom playthrough yet. Just glancing at my YouTube history shows I'm about three weeks worth of episodes behind. I keep watching a couple of episodes in a row here and there to catch up, but I still don't have the same desire to watch the show that I used to. I seriously can't remember the last time I watched an episode the day it came out.

The only time I missed episodes was when I was too busy or had no internet, but I always made sure to catch up. It became a total routine for about a year and a half for me to sit down at some point and watch the days two episodes. They've got a studio now for doing this stuff, they've got a new editor, a PR manager, 3 episodes a day every day no matter what, and a bunch of combinations of players that just do not work.įrom day one, I watched Game Grumps religiously. Barry tends to be a good mediator that stifles Arin and Ross' stupidity whenever he's around. Danny and Arin are okay when playing older games. Suzy's just kind of sitting in the room not contributing much of anything. So fucking bad.) Arin and Ross have gotten so bad that they are AWARE they're producing shitty content, and in the process of doing so, try to justify it or limit criticism by making fun of the people who they KNOW are going to call them out on making crappy videos! We're not paying attention? We're fucking simple things up? We're getting frustrated at simple concepts, insulting things that don't deserve it, wasting ungodly amounts of time being confused? Better throw in a few sarcastic quips to call anyone who finds that annoying stupid! Fuck our fans, they don't know what's good and what isn't, this is good content! (Almost all of this is inspired by Trials episode 2, which really is an incredible showcase of everything wrong with the show).

(Ross isn't that bad, but he's so bad with Arin. Ross doesnt pay attention, he gets upset too easily (See: I Am Bread, a game ABOUT difficult obnoxious controls by a developer known for making games about difficult obnoxious controls, where the very idea of not doing things perfectly every time makes ross fly into an un-funny and frankly scary roid rage), he has decided "hehe I'm gonna go to the DLC page" is a hilarious joke that works past the first amazing time he did it. Arin? ADHD, refusal to learn, refusal to listen, refusal to try, refusal to pay attention, and a feeling of entitlement to still being able to play a game, and a complex about being chided for not doing any of the things he consistently refuses to do. Other youtubers don't upload content that doesn't work.ĭanny and Barry, no problems. Other youtubers understand the thing in front of them. Other youtubers play a game a few minutes before recording to know the basics. More episodes, more time wasting, more people, more nonsense, to the point where quality goes ignored, in the background. They play games completely blind and it results in episode after episode, which I'm sure is good for them, but it results in frustration for the viewer because they couldn't be bothered to take 5 minutes to learn about the game before playing it to ensure they were making quality content. Arin and Ross' ADHD powers combine to form a meaninless, insulting episode that for some reason everyone involved thought was perfectly good content to upload (Trials episode 2). Suzy is on this episode! And.she's.mostly silent, except for when she's questioning what everyone else is saying or trying to get them to shut up.

Steam Train is basically "Here's our third video featuring whoever was available at the time" now instead of "Dan and Ross play PC games".
